Work bleeeekkk!

I am in the mood for a pick me up! In addition, I have been feeling bad about not posting anything new in a week... I swear I have some recent home pictures to share... but they are still in my camera... at home... So, I thought ... Hey ... at least get something up that is short and funny...

I ran across this cartoon today preparing for a staff meeting... I will have to think of this posting when I meet next with someone difficult... at least I will leave with a smile! I love the word: smartiepants... maybe that is why kids are so funny... they use all the great words in life to explain situations... Enjoy!

More Designing Dilemmas

So, for today's entry I thought I would continue with my designing Dilemmas ... One two our livingroom... So we have a 'galley' living / dining room room... it is long and narrow... I find it very hard to fit what I want to in its space and working to make it amazing...

One objective of the redoing the living room is to add more seating space. We want to work with a theme of eclectic unique classic.... We named our theme Hemingway Design stuff... I want to get accessories (once I fix down the furniture) that incorporates different animal leathers, silver, antique items (photos, letters, ect.) and other treasures from our travels...

I like this room, but I am not sure if the stools here would clog up our space... the room is 12' x 16'. We have a low profile TV (52") that in some upcoming blog I will want to discuss what to do with... conceal/ disguise but keep in our living space ...
I like the stools here... Garden stools are so in right now... I am not sure how I feel about them... but I love some of these recycle wood table / stools options from www.vivaterra.com ... I really like the look of recycled wood... but want to keep a classic / clean... look... I think I like the darker colors best!

I think I would like some stools to be placed under our console (glass and metal) table that is in the dinning space)... we will need small round tables to go in between 2 chairs (I think ...) and maybe 2 stools in front of our fire place... Thoughts??

2009 ...

Trying on 2009, I decided to give blogging another try...

At the end of last year I hired a local interior designer to come to our condo and assess our Living / Dining Room and 2 bedrooms. This was an interesting process... Her layout for the living / dining room was almost spot on what I already had laid out (expect she recommended her furniture store's furniture in replace of what we have) and her design for our bedroom did not include my most favorite antique barrister bookcase (which I told her how much I loved that piece of furniture). A long story longer, I spent some time at the store and discussed likes / dislikes and options... so we will see... at least she is helping me with understanding the size of furniture to purchase... ect....

So.... where does that leave me now... hunting down ideas of what I want to do with our place...

I guess for today, I will share some of the ideas I ran across for our bedroom...

{bed from www.vivaterra.com}

My husband LOVES heavy Manly wood beds... okay... well he does not feel beds are necessary, but I do and he likes heavy sturdy things...

Some other options I like are :
{bed from www.vivaterra.com}

I like this bed solely because it seems to blend both of what we want!! I like upholstered bed and he wants heavy wood!!

I bet this bedroom is cute, I like the desk as a nightstand... but that would mean I would have to buy the desk and the bed... hmmm...

We have this desk at home and it is in our bedroom now... I think I love this desk chair?! Or is it I just love the color palate!!

Thoughts???
